Connecting you with specialized attorneys, organizations, and resources across the nation
The American Muslim Legal Ecosystem (AMLE) was born from a historic collaboration between two of the largest Muslim civil rights organizations in America: CAIR-Chicago and the Muslim Legal Fund of America (MLFA).
In 2022, this partnership was awarded $200,000 through the Community Collaboration Initiative at Indiana University's Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. The grant, established by the Waraich Family Fund, recognized AMLE as part of a legal sector cohort committed to removing barriers that often leave legal advocates serving the Muslim community competing rather than collaborating.
AMLE launched as a comprehensive platform featuring a self-populating database, stakeholder network mapping, and a national resource and referral system. What began with a local focus on greater Chicagoland has grown into a nationwide directory connecting community members with vetted legal professionals across many practice areas from immigration and civil rights to family law and beyond.
